World’s Oldest Case of TB

BBC has an article discussing a H. erectus find that is said to have cranial markings that indicate tuberculosis, 45,000 years earlier than recorded in the prior oldest case.

There is still a lot to ask about this, such as the exact nature of the TB.

If it is somehow linked to a type present in H. sapiens, how was it shared between species. There are a lot of options for this, including transfer by a zoonotic agent.
