DVD Giveaway

I recently received a copy of the History Channel’s Journey to 10,000 BC, which was shown in conjunction with the release of the film 10,000 BC.

This special looks at some of the theories concerning the lifeways of Paleo-Indians around 10,000 BC.

If you want to have me send you this DVD, it’s really simple. Leave a comment on this thread by 11:59 PM Sunday June 22. I will select one poster randomly and contact them for an address.

UPDATE: Congratulations to Geis on winning a free copy of History Channel’s Journey to 10,000 BC

  3. Wow, fantastic DVD giveaway!! Thanks for even having a giveaway like this, it’s awesome!

  4. Nifty. I wouldn’t mind winning this. I didn’t want to shell out to see it in theatres, but a freebie DVD would be stellar. Fingers and toes crossed… Pick me, pick me!

  5. Is it any good?

  6. I am disappointed not to have seen this Discovery program. I am *not* disappointed to have not seen the film. Maybe when it shows up in the used DVD shop for $5 I’ll pick it up for laughs.

This weekend, I will be going to Meadowcroft rockshelter in Avella, PA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meadowcroft_Rockshelter) for an event hosted by the World Atlatl Association. I’ve been using an atlatl for a number of years now and, while over the years I have only shown marginal improvement (mostly because I don’t have anywhere to practice except at occasional events) I still enjoy having a go. I’m also going to have another try at learning to flint knap.

  7. It might be good for entertainment value…

  16. awesome DVD

  17. I’d like to point out that while it’s a last minute comment, mine is the only one with “content”. Indeed, the word “content” is mentioned at least twice. :)

  18. I’d like to thank archaeologyknits for the DVD but since it was random chance that won it for me, I suppose thanks aren’t necessarily in order. Well, I suppose I could thank archaeologyknits for making the DVD available. It would be silly to thank the uncaring universe for choosing me . . .

OK, so, I won and I will endeavor to make that random act worth something by watching the video when I receive it and reviewing it. Perhaps for a day there will be more than the half dozen visitors to my blog.

    Stay tuned.

    And thanks.
